Let us introduce you to one of our newest products from McLean & Co.
Rod and Sue McLean own three c1918 Hattersley Domestic looms, originally from the Scottish Isles and now in their care. Rod is a craftsman weaver, specialising in weaving traditionally inspired tartans and tweeds. Sue is a nationally recognised textile artist specialising in historically influenced contemporary artworks.
Together they create heirlooms of the future; textiles to be treasured by generations.
These traditionally crafted blankets have been woven, crocheted, washed and finished at the McLean’s home in Oamaru. They are made of New Zealand wool and alpaca fibre sourced from the Woollen Mill in Milton, South Otago.
Each blanket created is unique and there is no one blanket like the other. A beautiful treasure, this hand-crafted blanket will be the perfect gift that finds itself useful for many occasions. Available in store now at Tessuti.
