Grand Chalet Candle 260g

DESCRIPTION

Grand Chalet scented candle by celebrated French ceramic house, Astier de Villatte. Lost in Swiss Alpine pastures, at the heart of a small and peaceful village, stands the imposing and magnificent wooden structure of the Grand Chalet. It was here, in this unique landscape with its healing climate, that the painter Balthus made his home, enchanted by the fragrances of milk, honey and hints of citrus from the ancient lime trees that surrounded his studio. Today, like a wonderful memory, his favourite perfume fills this place once again.

Scent family - Floral.

Notes: Milk, honey, and linden blossom.

Size: 260g, burntime 60 - 70 hours.

The candle fragrances were developed by Astier de Villatte designers and perfumer Françoise Caron who worked with a team at Takasago.

The candles are made of biodegradable vegetable wax (a mix of soy, beeswax, and plant extracts) and have cotton wicks.

The glass is hand blown in Tuscany, making each one completely unique.

DETAILS

  • Care instructions: ensure the entire wax surface is molten each burn before extinguishing the flame. Trimming the wick after each burn prevents soot forming on the glass.
  • The labels and packaging for the candles are printed by Monsieur Huin, the last typesetter in France.

ABOUT the MAKER

Astier de Villatte

Astier de Villatte ceramics are handmade in their Parisian workshops. Each piece is unique, as a result of manual work and the natural method of drying. The white enamel allows an irregular glimpse of the brown clay underneath. The production of ceramic objects is a long and delicate process. Each piece is entirely made by one craftsperson. In fact, you can find engraved on each piece the initials of Astier de Villatte and of the craftsperson who made it.
