Off the coast of Gabon, in the Gulf of Guinea, lies the island of Sao Tomé — tourist-free beaches, ancient forests, and timber houses. Known as Chocolate Island, it is home to cocoa plantations producing beans of singular quality. The air carries dark chocolate: bittersweet, slightly woody, faintly smoky — a fragrance that is both captivating and completely of that place.
In a room, it reads as rich and quietly intoxicating — warm and deeply grounding without heaviness. Suited to an evening, a dining room, or anywhere that benefits from something singular and considered in the air.
Roasted cocoa anchors the composition — intense, distinctive, and slightly bitter. Atlas cedar introduces a dry, woody depth beneath, while labdanum vulcain adds a smoky, amber quality reminiscent of church incense. Sandalwood brings a creamy, enveloping warmth to the heart, and musk carries the whole to a soft, lasting close.
