The Villa Médicis stands above Rome, its majestic gardens running the length of artists' workshops — large windows opening over the rooftops of the city, the air alive with lemon tree leaves, lavender, and oregano flowers. Tall cedars rise nearby, and beneath everything, the inexpressible fragrance of ancient stones warmed by the sun. A place of encounter and meditation, unchanged in its essentials for centuries.
In a room, it reads as herbal and quietly luminous — Mediterranean without being obvious, complex without heaviness. Suited to a study, a workspace, or anywhere that benefits from something considered and deeply rooted in the air.
Italian lemon opens with a bright, sharp citrus clarity — immediate and sun-drenched. Oregano, rosemary, lavender, and wormwood introduce a wild, aromatic herbaceous quality at the heart — the scent of a garden in full summer heat. Clary sage and myrtle add a cool, green depth beneath, while clove brings a faint spiced warmth. Cedarwood, vetiver, and patchouli ground the whole in a woody, resinous base that evokes the warmth of ancient stone.
