Kontex

Kontex has been weaving towels in Japan since 1923, on traditional looms run at deliberately slow speeds — a process that draws out the natural softness of the cotton yarn without mechanical stress. The result is a cloth that feels closer to gauze than terry: lightweight, airy, and extraordinarily gentle against skin.
For a newborn, that quality matters. Kontex's triple gauze construction is soft enough for the most delicate skin, highly absorbent, and fast-drying — and grows softer with every wash.
At Tessuti we carry Kontex in the zoo animal print: small hand-drawn creatures scattered across a cream ground, available as a bath towel and wash cloth.
