Brass Ginkgo Leaf Incense Holder

The ginkgo is one of the oldest tree species on earth, its fan-shaped leaf largely unchanged for millions of years. The Cool Hunter has cast that form in solid brass, with every fine vein raised across the surface and the scalloped edges and stem polished to a soft, warm lustre.

A small brass bead at the base of the leaf holds a single incense stick at an angle, so ash falls onto the leaf rather than the surface below. The piece rests low and flat on a table, windowsill or bedside.

Between uses, it works as a catchall for rings, earrings and keys on a dresser or entrance table, or sits on its own as a small sculptural object on a shelf or a stack of books.

The underside is polished smooth and signed, and each holder arrives in a black presentation box embossed with ginkgo leaves, ready to give.
