Clouds by Duncan Grant Cushion 50x50

$290 NZD

Grant was a central figure in the circle of artist and writers known as Bloomsbury, which included Grant's cousin Lytton Strachey, Maynard Keynes, Roger Fry, Virginia and Leonard Woolf, Virginia's sister the painter Vanessa Bell and Vanessa's husband the critic Clive Bell.

This warm, atmospheric design has been reproduced as a high quality fabric by Laura Ashley. One of Duncan Grant’s most abstract designs, the motifs suggest the ‘clouds’ of the title without taking away, broader, autumnal associations. The fabric can bring the intermittent lustre of an evening sunset into almost any room.

Size: 50x50cm, comes with feather inner.

ABOUT the MAKER

Rachel Carley Design

Rachel Carley established a ceramic design practice during 1994 in Auckland, New Zealand, after completing her PhD in Architecture. Rachel's ceramic collection contains a range of elegant and eclectic forms, which are designed to collaborate with food. A sustainable imperative informs Rachel's design practice. The ceramics are proudly made in New Zealand, and have become collectables, so are less likely to be part of a disposable ‘throwaway’ culture.
