Hand-carved from a solid piece of white Carrara marble, this fig is hand-painted in deep purple-black, the surface mottled with a dusty grey-violet like the bloom on ripe fruit. A carved split opens to pale, creamy flesh edged in plum, and the tip is left a soft cream.

Substantial in the hand, it sits upright on its rounded base or rests on its side. It holds its own alone on a shelf or side table, or set on a plate beside other fruit.

Approximate dimensions: 6.5cm D x 7.5cm H.
