Men Carrying Flowers Vol. 2 continues Ophelia Mikkelson Jones's twelve-year, unplanned survey of a small, recurring gesture: a man carrying flowers, caught in passing on the street. Where the first volume held only the artist's own sightings, this one gathers photographs and text recollections sent in by forty-eight contributors across thirty-one cities, offered without request after readers encountered the original book. Jones, an artist working across photography, painting and sculpture, is based in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The images sit alongside new writing by Canadian writer and film director Durga Chew-Bose, author of Too Much and Not the Mood and director of Bonjour Tristesse, her 2024 adaptation of the Françoise Sagan novel. Chew-Bose considers the one day each year when the streets fill with blooms, moving between memory and imagination. Published by Anyonebooks, the imprint behind the first volume, this edition extends a project built on kindness as something to notice rather than stage.
