The Demees Haute Cushion is an exquisite composition of antique textiles and couture detailing, curated by Peter Copping — celebrated British designer and Artistic Director of Lanvin, formerly of Oscar de la Renta and Nina Ricci.
Handmade in Normandy at La Carlière, the 15th-century château Peter shares with his husband, Rambert Rigaud, this cushion showcases intricate craftsmanship and layered beauty. Elaborately embroidered bands and lamé jacquard ribbons are meticulously applied atop antique sari bands that form the cushion’s base. The design is framed with silk velvet piping, and the reverse reveals a hand block-printed fabric — a nod to India’s textile heritage.
Fully lined and presented with a calico dust-bag, each piece is unique, sustainably made, and designed to endure as an heirloom of refined artistry.
