The Equestrian Platter by Artist L. is hand-painted with a scene of a mounted rider in full stride, rendered in loose, storybook brushwork across a warm, speckled stoneware base. Horse and rider are framed by hand-drawn fruit trees, birds mid-flight, and a scattering of arrows and foliage, all finished beneath a soft, glossy glaze. A looping scalloped border, dotted with tiny hand-painted horseshoes, traces the oval rim.
Hand-built from stoneware clay and hand-painted in Artist L.'s New Zealand studio, the platter is designed as a decorative piece, best displayed on a wall, shelf or table. Each one carries the naive, illustrative style she's become known for, no two pieces are ever painted quite the same.
