The Medallion Tote is built from a grid of hand-crocheted raffia medallions, each one a small, open pinwheel of lace joined to the next in Sophie Digard's signature patchwork construction. The result is a bag that is as much textile as object — its open lacework casting shadow and light across the surface, the natural raffia shifting between pale straw and warm gold depending on how it falls.
Worked entirely in 100% raffia by the women artisans Digard has long collaborated with in Madagascar, every medallion is crocheted by hand, its geometry precise yet alive with the subtle variation that only handwork produces.
