Woven on a jacquard loom at a historical Italian mill, the Rete throw takes its name and its structure from the ornamental iron gates of Venice — the rete, or net — whose latticed forms have long resembled the patterns of a fisherman's weave. The design is built using a three-colour double construction, a technically demanding process that layers charcoal, amber, and ecru into an interlocking grid of genuine depth and complexity.
The cloth is a fine blend of lambswool and cashmere, soft-felted to give warmth without weight. Each edge is finished by hand with a rolled cord of contrasting thread — a detail that is both functional and precisely right. In Carnico Gray, the charcoal ground anchors the amber warmly, the ecru holding the balance between them.
