Selena Necklace - Blue Lace Agate

The Selena Necklace is a quietly considered pendant — an oval blue lace agate cabochon set in a gold plated claw setting, the stone's pale grey-blue banding held within a decorative scalloped border.

The design takes its name from Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon — a reference carried lightly in the circular form of the stone and the warmth of the gold surrounding it. Blue lace agate is a fine-grained stone, its surface smooth and translucent, with soft parallel bands of grey, white, and pale blue that shift with the light. A small white freshwater pearl finishes the extension chain.

Worn at the collarbone, it has the quality of something old — a found piece, a kept piece.
