A hand-carved acorn cup and oak leaf in oxidised sterling silver, a freshwater pearl suspended beneath — small in scale, considered in every detail. Made in Louise Douglas's Nelson studio using the lost wax casting technique, the acorn cup and leaf charm are carved in wax before being cast in sterling silver, hand-finished, and oxidised to a dark antique tone. The freshwater pearl sits beneath the acorn cup, pale and round against the depth of the silver. The two charms hang separately on a fine sterling silver chain — a piece that carries something of the found world with it, and wears as quietly as it was made. Oxidised sterling silver, freshwater pearl Sterling silver chain and clasp Charm length 18mm, chain length 45cm Pearl care: Pearls are best stored separately from other jewellery to avoid scratching. Avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, and cosmetics. Wipe gently with a soft cloth after wearing. Do not submerge in water. Care instructions: Clean with a jewellery polishing cloth. Contact with water and chemicals is best avoided. It is best to remove jewellery before showering and avoid contact with corrosive substances including cleaning products and hair spray. Made in Louise Douglas's Nelson studio using the lost wax casting technique — each piece begins as a hand-carved wax model before being cast in metal, hand-finished, and polished. Sterling silver pieces are oxidised to a dark antique tone; gold pieces are buffed to retain their subtle surface texture. Due to the handmade nature of Louise Douglas's work, slight variations are to be expected.
