Baladi Hand Blown Glass Light - Size 2
The Baladi Hand Blown Glass Light is an illuminated sculpture — a dense cluster of mouth-blown glass drops that glow with warm, diffused light. Size 2 is formed from medium drops rather than the small drops of its counterpart, giving the cluster a fuller, more expansive presence. Each drop is blown by hand in Damascus from recycled glass, without moulds, then assembled onto a metal structure in France.
The form has a history. In 1950s Damascus, a glassblower began assembling these clusters as decorative objects — hung outdoors in courtyards and on terraces, catching light without electricity. The idea to introduce a bulb came later, transforming the cluster into what it is now: an object that works as both sculpture and light source.
