A softly tapering pot finished in Astier de Villatte's gold lustre: a metallic glaze painted over the fired white base and fused into it through a second firing, so the gold sits within the glaze itself rather than on top of it — glass-like rather than painted, and catching the light unevenly across its surface.
Sized to hold a bundle of Astier de Villatte incense sticks, it works equally well for pencils, brushes, or a handful of dried stems.
