A horse strides across the surface of this rectangular platter, rendered in fine, engraving-like line — one foreleg raised, tail low, caught mid-stride against a pale ground. The platter's own edge is cut with shallow, angled facets, giving the white glaze a faceted, architectural line.
Created in collaboration with New York artist John Derian, the horse is applied as a fired decal, archival imagery selected by Derian and fused permanently into the glaze through a final kiln firing — part of his long-running collaboration with Astier de Villatte.
