The Lambeth Circle 1725 Dessert Plate centres on a blue-ringed medallion surrounded by radiating botanical motifs in teal, rust, mustard and deep red — each one carrying the lively character of an 18th century original. It is a plate that brings presence to a table whether in use or on a shelf, the imagery drawn from archival sources and fused permanently into the glaze.
Part of the Delft Collection, a collaboration between Astier de Villatte and John Derian, drawing on the painted pottery tradition of Dutch manufacturers in Delft — a craft with roots reaching back to the 12th century. The design is applied as a fired decal, archival imagery selected by John Derian and fused permanently into the glaze.
