Olive Trees

$1750 NZD
(Last One)

Olive Trees is an evocative original painting by New Zealand artist Max Thomson, capturing a quiet, rhythmic landscape bathed in dappled light. Measuring 610 x 455mm and painted with loose, expressive brushstrokes, the work depicts a stand of olive trees, where layered greens and softened shadows create a sense of calm and timelessness.

Thomson’s sensitivity to light and place is evident throughout the composition. The repetition of trunks and shadows draws the eye inward, inviting slow contemplation. As with much of his work, Olive Trees reflects a lifelong connection to landscape, shaped by his formative years in provincial New Zealand and his enduring relationship with the natural environment.

This is a one-of-a-kind original artwork, rich in atmosphere and painterly depth, and a beautiful addition to a considered interior.
