Sarah Espeute is a French artist-designer who treats decorative elements as sensitive pieces, œuvres sensibles.
Sarah's tablecloths and runners are designed by her, then hand-embroidered by independent artisans in Marseille who share her love of the craft, a small, local, and caring production.
Chemin du Potager traces a line of garden motifs in black cotton thread: fresh garlic, a butternut squash, a turnip, a knife, and two pears. Worked onto antique linen and cotton, the natural tone of the fabric varies from ecru to cream, piece to piece.
Size: 40 × 250 cm. The embroidery is placed centrally, over a length of 140 cm.

Sarah Espuete - Oeuvres Sensibles
Oeuvres Sensibles is the textile project of French artist and designer Sarah Espeute. Each creation is treated as a "sensitive work," an œuvre sensible. Depending on the design, her individual pieces are either completely hand-embroidered by independent artisans in Marseille or Cornely machine-embroidered in Marseille, using a hand-guided technique dating to the 19th century. The textiles are made from a mix of vintage French linen and cotton sheets, sourced from private homes across France and ranging from 50 to 100 years old, and carefully sourced new French fabrics. Each carries its own story, woven into the embroidered piece. At Tessuti, we offer these nostalgic pieces: each a unique blend of memory, material, and artistry.
