For this piece, Sarah lets the hands speak. Calm hands resting on the table, adhering to French etiquette, or eager hands crossing and touching to toast and share delectable dishes.

Mains sur la Table (Hands on the Table). Embroidered using a Cornely machine — a hand-guided chainstitch technique from the 19th century.

Tablecloth with 6 pairs of hands, a baguette & a bottle of wine.

Size: 360x150 cm. (6 guests)

Composition: 100% Linen. Natural green dye. White stitching.

Handmade in the atelier in Marseille, South of France.

Sarah Espeute is a french Artist-Designer who appreciates and works on decorative elements as if they were sensitive pieces, Oeuvres sensibles.The tablecloths are designed by Sarah and then hand embroidered by independent artists in Marseille who also share the love for embroidery. It is a small, local and caring production.The fabrics are linen & cotton sheets collected from private individuals all over France. They are between 50 and 100 years old. Each has a family history.
