ABOUT the MAKER

Oeuvres Sensibles

Oeuvres Sensibles is the poetic textile project of French artist and designer Sarah Espeute. With a thoughtful approach to art and object, Sarah treats each creation as a "sensitive work"—an œuvre sensible. Her tablecloths are delicately hand-embroidered by independent artisans in Marseille who share her deep love for embroidery and craftsmanship. The textiles are made using vintage French linen and cotton sheets, each one sourced from private homes across France. Ranging from 50 to 100 years old, these fabrics carry intimate family histories that are subtly woven into each new embroidered story. At Tessuti, we are proud to offer these beautifully nostalgic pieces—each a unique blend of memory, material, and mindful artistry.
