The Addyson Penguin is worked entirely in hand-applied sequins and beads on silk velvet — the body in dense white and silver, the wings, feet, and facial markings in black. The sequins cover every surface of the form, catching light from every angle, the texture uniform and richly tactile. The beak is a soft velvet form in warm amber-gold, the only warmth against an otherwise monochrome surface. A small, precisely made object with a lot of presence.
Designed in Germany and made by hand in India, each Addyson Penguin is worked piece by piece to Drechsel's own specifications.
