The Bouquet Lion in Shaded Mint stands on four legs and commands attention quietly. The body is shaded olive-gold silk velvet, worked with large peony blooms in blush pink and cream and flowing stem and leaf embroidery in green — a garden carried on a lion's back. The mane is something else entirely: dense pink fringing, hand-worked thread by thread, that moves when handled. The tail ends in a small pink tassel, a detail so considered it could only be intentional.
Designed in Germany and made by hand in India, each Bouquet Lion is embroidered on the frame, piece by piece, with fabric dyed to Drechsel's own colour specifications. The Shaded Mint colourway — olive, gold, blush and green — has the quality of something found rather than designed.
