The Megan Frog in Shaded Lake leans forward on extended arms, its broad head tilted slightly upward, amber-brown glass eyes catching the light. The velvet moves between sage, warm taupe and muted brown — the same clouded, shaded dyeing that defines the Lake colourway across Drechsel's work. Into this ground, hibiscus-like flowers in deep rose and blush pink are scattered across the body and arms, with small leaf motifs in warm gold. The hands and feet are left in plain velvet throughout.
Designed in Germany and made by hand in India, each Megan Frog is embroidered on the frame, piece by piece, with fabric dyed to Drechsel's own colour specifications. A piece with a particular presence — the posture and the eyes see to that.
