The Amelia Cushion in Warm Clay carries two embroidery traditions across a single face. One half is geometric — diamond lattices, arrow forms, and fine scrolling detail worked in warm gold and chartreuse thread on a deep clay velvet ground. The other moves into the botanical: open flowers in rose-pink, coral, and pale blue, with spreading green stems and leaf forms that drift freely across a lighter, sand-toned velvet. The two vocabularies meet without resolution, the face of the cushion shifting between them as the eye travels across it. The velvet ground itself is shaded, moving from pale warm sand to deeper tobacco-clay.
Designed in Germany and made by hand in India, each Amelia Cushion is embroidered on the frame, piece by piece, with fabric dyed to Drechsel's own colour specifications.
