The Anise Cushion in Citrine is densely worked — small five-petal flowers embroidered so closely across the citrine yellow silk velvet that almost no ground shows through. From across a room it reads as texture; up close, two distinct treatments emerge: some flowers outlined in deep plum, others in pale gold metallic thread, the variation giving the surface a quiet, shifting depth. The piped edge is the same citrine velvet throughout.
Designed in Germany and made by hand in India, each Anise Cushion is embroidered on the frame, piece by piece, with fabric dyed to Drechsel's own colour specifications. A cushion that earns its place on a sofa and holds it — the kind of piece that looks considered from any distance.
