The Cornflower is a hand-painted copper flower sculpture that captures the delicate structure and airy form of this field bloom. Each petal is carefully shaped and painted by hand in the Milan atelier of Elisabetta and Carolina Sonzini, where traditional craftsmanship is brought to life through a refined botanical lens.
Created using tôle peinte, an 18th-century French technique of painting on metal, the piece reveals subtle depth and tonal variation through its hand-applied finish. The finely detailed petals and open form lend a sense of lightness and movement, balanced by a quiet precision.
Mounted on a simple black wooden base, the Cornflower is designed as a sculptural object — bringing a gentle presence to a console, mantel, or interior setting. A lasting bloom, it reflects a considered approach to material and craftsmanship.
