The Fleur Lobster in Shaded Rose is covered from claw to tail in hand embroidered silk velvet. The body is dense with embroidery — a large open peony in deep rose and gold sits at the centre, surrounded by smaller medallion blooms worked in gold metallic thread with accents of dusty blue, crimson, amber, cream, and olive-green. The legs carry their own repeating pattern of smaller flower medallions in the same rich palette, each one distinct. The ground is a shaded rose silk velvet, moving between pale blush and deeper coral-rose, the pile shifting in tone across the full length of the piece.
Designed in Germany and made by hand in India, each Fleur Lobster is embroidered on the frame, piece by piece, with fabric dyed to Drechsel's own colour specifications.
