The Jacqueline Cushion in Light Brown covers a deep tobacco-brown silk velvet ground with a field of open flowers, each one a slightly different form. Some are worked in flat satin stitch, others have raised, textured centres; some are outlined in fine gold thread. The palette runs from chartreuse and amber through coral, rose-pink, slate-blue and warm white — a range that reads as exuberant from across a room and rewards close attention. The plain crushed velvet back shifts between warm gold and light brown depending on the light.
Designed in Germany and made by hand in India, each Jacqueline Cushion is embroidered on the frame, piece by piece, with fabric dyed to Drechsel's own colour specifications.
