A crushed corn yellow silk velvet, bright and warm, finished on all four sides with a peach-pink fringe. The velvet shifts between clear yellow and soft gold depending on the light, the pile moving freely across the surface. The fringe adds a softness to the edge that a piped finish would not — the two colours sitting close enough in warmth to feel considered, different enough to be noticed.
Designed in Germany and made by hand in India, with fabric dyed to Anke Drechsel's own colour specifications.

Anke Drechsel
Anke Drechsel has worked from her atelier in Karlsruhe since 1986, designing silk velvet cushions and home textiles that are made entirely by hand in India. Each piece is dyed to her own colour specifications and embroidered on the frame by skilled artisans, a process that is slow by intention, and visible in the result. Tessuti carries a curated selection of Drechsel's cushions and decorative objects: plain velvets finished with fringe, and embroidered pieces worked in silk thread on grounds that shift with the light. These are things made to be lived with.
