The Kensington Big Bear in Shaded Lake sits with paws raised, its surface moving between sage, warm taupe and muted olive-brown — a colourway that shifts depending on the light. Across the body, large blowsy blooms in blush and cream are worked with deep rose-pink detail, connected throughout by fine trailing stem and leaf embroidery. A single flower sits on the cheek, placed there as deliberately as everything else.
Designed in Germany and made by hand in India, the Kensington Big Bear is embroidered on the frame, piece by piece, with fabric dyed to Drechsel's own colour specifications. At 22 cm tall and fully three-dimensional, it is one of the more considered objects in the collection — the kind of piece that earns its place on a shelf and stays there.
