The Little Cornflower is a hand-painted copper flower sculpture that captures the lightness and delicate structure of this field bloom in a refined, smaller scale. Each petal is carefully shaped and painted by hand in the Milan atelier of Elisabetta and Carolina Sonzini, where traditional craftsmanship is expressed through a considered botanical lens.
Created using tôle peinte, an 18th-century French technique of painting on metal, the piece reveals subtle depth and tonal variation through its hand-applied finish. Soft pink tones and fine detailing lend a sense of clarity and gentle movement to the form.
Mounted on a simple black wooden base, the Little Cornflower is designed as a sculptural object — bringing a light, understated presence to a console, sideboard, or mantel. A lasting bloom, it reflects a thoughtful approach to material and craftsmanship.
