The Miranda Giraffe in Antique Gold is covered in hand-embroidered silk velvet, the motif a scattered botanical of small open daisy flowers in white and cream with slate-blue centres, interspersed with gold leaf sprays and fine trailing stems. The embroidery runs from the legs up the full length of the neck, the pattern open and unhurried, the warm amber-gold velvet ground visible between each motif. The ossicones are worked in the same velvet, the face detailed and considered. The ground shifts between bright amber and deeper tobacco-gold as the pile moves in the light.
Designed in Germany and made by hand in India, each Miranda Giraffe is embroidered on the frame, piece by piece, with fabric dyed to Drechsel's own colour specifications.
