The Moira Turtle Small in Emerald concentrates its embroidery on the shell — the natural canvas of the form. Open flowers in powder blue with soft pink centres are worked across the domed surface, connected by fine gold stems and sage-green leaves, the embroidery arranged in a loose, flowing pattern that follows the curve of the shell. The body, legs, and head are plain emerald silk velvet, deep and green, the scalloped edge of the shell sitting neatly above them. The face is detailed and calm.
Designed in Germany and made by hand in India, each Moira Turtle is embroidered on the frame, piece by piece, with fabric dyed to Drechsel's own colour specifications.
