Mushroom II shares the same deep crimson velvet cap and hand-embroidered white spots as its companions, but the cap sits differently — more domed and deeply segmented, the velvet a shade richer and darker. The stem is cream velvet, worked with a single band of looping scroll embroidery in dusty rose-brown that runs around the upper stem in an unhurried, continuous line. The base is finished with a small ring of gold embroidery.
Designed in Germany and made by hand in India, each mushroom is embroidered on the frame, piece by piece, with fabric dyed to Drechsel's own colour specifications. Sold individually. Works well grouped with Mushroom I and Mushroom III.

Anke Drechsel
Anke Drechsel has worked from her atelier in Karlsruhe since 1986, designing silk velvet cushions and home textiles that are made entirely by hand in India. Each piece is dyed to her own colour specifications and embroidered on the frame by skilled artisans, a process that is slow by intention, and visible in the result. Tessuti carries a curated selection of Drechsel's cushions and decorative objects: plain velvets finished with fringe, and embroidered pieces worked in silk thread on grounds that shift with the light. These are things made to be lived with.
