Mushroom III is the smallest of the three and carries the most complex stem — cream velvet worked with dense embroidery in olive green, warm brown and taupe that suggests a forest floor more than it depicts one. The cap sits at a slight angle, giving this mushroom a more informal posture than its companions, as though it has simply arrived. The crimson velvet cap with hand-embroidered white spots and the small gold ring at the base are consistent throughout the series.
Designed in Germany and made by hand in India, each mushroom is embroidered on the frame, piece by piece, with fabric dyed to Drechsel's own colour specifications. Sold individually. Works well grouped with Mushroom I and Mushroom II.
