The Sona Elephant in Old Rose works in the warm register throughout — dusty rose silk velvet, muted between blush and mauve, covered in five-petal flowers in terracotta-orange and warm gold, connected by fine trailing stems with occasional silver-blue leaf accents. The ear carries a starburst chenille cluster in the same warm gold, radiating outward from a dense centre. The trunk tip has its own small motif — a leaf in silver and gold, placed there as carefully as everything else.
Designed in Germany and made by hand in India, each Sona Elephant is embroidered on the frame, piece by piece, with fabric dyed to Drechsel's own colour specifications. The tail ends in a small dark gold tassel. Where the Blue colourway reads as cool and considered, the Old Rose is warmer and more immediate — the same object, a different mood entirely.
