The Tara Cushion in Light Green is the most formally composed of Anke Drechsel's cushion designs. A repeating damask lattice covers the entire face of the cushion — diagonal trellis lines in rose-gold thread enclose upright floral and foliate motifs, each one worked in dense satin and stem stitch with fine scrolling detail at every junction. The embroidery is intricate enough that no two sections read identically, yet the overall pattern holds a strict symmetry. The ground is a deep forest green silk velvet, crushed and rich, which gives the rose-gold embroidery a warmth it would not have on a darker or flatter surface.
Designed in Germany and made by hand in India, each Tara Cushion is embroidered on the frame, piece by piece, with fabric dyed to Drechsel's own colour specifications.
