The Arnold Circus Stool in Paperbark is a modern design classic — understated, functional, and quietly architectural. Designed in 2006 by Martino Gamper as part of a regeneration project for Arnold Circus in Shoreditch, London, the stool has since become an enduring icon of contemporary public design.
This version is made under licence in New Zealand, crafted from 100% recyclable polyethylene plastic using rotational moulding. Our mould features a slightly more generous seat than the original UK version, offering enhanced comfort while preserving the purity of Gamper’s original form. Subtle surface variations may be visible — a natural result of the moulding process and part of the stool’s character.
Finished in Paperbark, a soft, organic neutral inspired by natural fibres and pale timber tones, this colourway blends seamlessly into both interior and exterior settings. Lightweight yet robust, the stool functions effortlessly as extra seating, a side table, or a sculptural accent — equally suited to everyday living, entertaining, or shared spaces.
