Vase d'Avril Petit

$365 NZD

The Vase d’Avril Petit is one of the most iconic creations by Tsé & Tsé — a graceful balance of structure, movement, and lightness. Composed of 21 slender interlocking glass tubes, this articulated vase can be shaped and reshaped endlessly, responding intuitively to space and flowers.

Its zinc-coated steel framework allows the vase to be fragmented into two distinct segments or reconnected into a circular form by removing a single tube. When owned in multiples, Vase d’Avril Petit can be joined and extended indefinitely, transforming into a flowing, sculptural installation across a table or shelf.

Despite its expressive flexibility, the vase remains beautifully restrained. Just a few stems are enough to bring it to life, allowing negative space and rhythm to play an equal role. Over time, contact with water causes the metal structure to develop a soft white oxidised patina — a natural evolution that adds depth and character to the piece.

A signature object of modern French design — playful, refined, and endlessly adaptable.

Dimensions - 10cm high, 13–55cm total length (adjustable), each test tube is 3cm in diameter.

Materials: Glass tubes with zinc-coated steel structure

ABOUT the MAKER

Tsé & Tsé Associées

Tsé & Tsé associées is a French design house celebrated for its playful, poetic approach to everyday objects. Founded in 1991 by Parisian designers Sigolène Prébois and Catherine Lévy, it remains one of the few independent design companies in France. Each piece is conceived, prototyped, and refined in their Bastille workshop, where a small, dedicated team oversees every stage from idea to final product. Known for their originality and irregularity, Tsé & Tsé creations are intentionally unique — no two items are ever quite the same. These thoughtful differences are the brand’s signature, adding soul and story to each object. At Tessuti, we offer a curated selection of Tsé & Tsé objects that combine French charm with enduring function — perfect for the home that values character and craftsmanship.
