Home of Christmas

We reveal how Tessuti owner Ali McIntosh celebrates her festive season...

From the celebratory lead up to the finishing touches, Tessuti embraces all that is festive and made from the heart this Christmas season. Our inkling is to make tiny moments of connection something memorable, and our Christmas gifting selection echoes this sentiment: not more, but magical.

We spent the day with Tessuti owner Ali McIntosh as she set up and decorated her Christmas Tree at home. While we lent a hand, we listened to Ali's most precious Christmas memories, and jotted down her styling tips for an enchanting installation...

"Putting up the Christmas tree and unboxing all of the decorations is one of my greatest memories from this time of year. We had a set of small pretty flower-shaped coloured lights for the tree that, as a child, I thought were so magical..."

And what to serve?

"The Tomato and Pomegranate Salad from Ottolenghi's Plenty More or Tomatoes with Sumac Onions and Pine Nuts from Ottolenghi Simple are both beautifully colourful salads for the Christmas table. The Red Grape and Balsamic Mostarda from our journal post [HERE] with a couple of lovely cheeses and some crackers is always welcomed for a drinks get together. If you've been asked to bring the Fruit Cake to the family Christmas party, then the Tessuti Family Christmas Cake from our journal post [HERE] is super easy and super delicious!"

"I have collected hand-blown Christmas decorations since I was in my twenties, and have also kept some of my mother's and my grandmother's Christmas decorations. Some of them are too fragile to use on the tree now, but I still get them out every year to look at and enjoy the memories."

"I have started the tradition with my grandchildren (as my mother did with my children) of giving them a special decoration for their Christmas tree each year. It's so lovely when they point out the ones I have given to them over the years."
