With both an inspiring home and garden, we take a walk around the kitchen and overgrown garden paths of renowned chef and author, Alice Waters. Pioneer of the Slow Food movement in the 70's in California and a passionate engagement to organic growing, her restaurant Chez Panisse is considered one of the best in the world. In Interior Portraits Leslie Williamson captures Waters' home (as well as many other cultural pioneers and creatives spaces) in her third glorious book. Williamson describes being transfixed by the dark shades of green, greys and plums in the house— "I remember loving that an overgrown wisteria from the front yard had somehow snuck in through the window and was allowed to grow into the living room. It seemed fitting." With shelves of preserves, a green titled kitchen, a grand piano and an edible garden, we are in love and inspired.
