Selena Necklace - Aventurine

The Selena Necklace is a quietly considered pendant — an oval aventurine cabochon set in a gold plated claw setting, the stone's soft celadon green held within a decorative scalloped border.

The design takes its name from Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon — a reference carried lightly in the circular form of the stone and the warmth of the gold surrounding it. The aventurine cabochon has the smooth, almost waxy surface characteristic of the stone, its colour shifting between pale jade green and deeper teal depending on the light. A small white freshwater pearl finishes the extension chain.

Worn at the collarbone, it has the quality of something old — a found piece, a kept piece.
