  • Auckland Architecture - A Personal View is a celebration of the diversity of style and decoration of Auckland's architecture, featuring photographs never published before, and an index giving addresses, construction dates, and names of architects. It will delight and inspire all those who love older buildings and have an interest in the heritage & culture of Auckland's city & suburbs.
  • Sait Akkirman was born in Istanbul, Turkey, where he began taking photographs from the age of 14, using his grandfather's 1936 Leica II which he still has. He came to New Zealand in 1974, and has lived in Auckland ever since. In the late 1970's Sait joined Auckland City Council as official photographer. The intimate knowledge of the city he gained during the 2 1/2 years he spent with the Council proved invaluable for the production of this book.
