The Double Cosmos is a hand-painted copper flower sculpture that captures the light, open form of this delicate bloom in a layered composition. Each petal is individually shaped and painted by hand in the Milan atelier of Elisabetta and Carolina Sonzini, where traditional craftsmanship is expressed through a refined botanical lens.
Created using tôle peinte, an 18th-century French technique of painting on metal, the piece reveals subtle depth and tonal variation through its hand-applied finish. The double bloom introduces a sense of movement and balance, with overlapping petals creating a soft, dimensional form.
Mounted on a simple black wooden base, the Double Cosmos is designed as a sculptural object — bringing a gentle, considered presence to a console, mantel, or interior setting. A lasting bloom, it reflects a thoughtful approach to material and craftsmanship.
