The Little Blue Aquilegia is a hand-painted copper flower sculpture that captures the delicate, airy form of this distinctive bloom in a refined, smaller scale. Each petal is carefully shaped and painted by hand in the Milan atelier of Elisabetta and Carolina Sonzini, where traditional craftsmanship is expressed through a considered botanical lens.
Created using tôle peinte, an 18th-century French technique of painting on metal, the piece reveals subtle depth and tonal variation through its hand-applied finish. The softly defined petals and gentle structure bring a sense of lightness and movement to the form.
Mounted on a simple black wooden base, the Little Blue Aquilegia is designed as a sculptural object — offering a subtle yet distinctive presence for a console, mantel, or interior setting. A lasting bloom, it reflects a thoughtful approach to material and craftsmanship.
