Small Raffia Bag with Pompom Raffia Flowers

The Small Raffia Bag with Pompom Raffia Flowers is built on a crocheted raffia ground, its surface covered in a grid of raised tufted squares — each one a dense cluster of frayed raffia fibres in natural, blush, mustard, or terracotta, their texture soft and shaggy against the flat crochet between them. The colour is distributed across the grid with the irregular logic of something grown, no two squares quite the same shade.

Crocheted and assembled entirely by hand in Madagascar by the artisans Sophie Digard has long collaborated with, every tufted square is formed individually before being worked into the bag body. No two bags are identical.

A compact, structured silhouette with short crocheted handles — considered in scale and substantial in construction.
