The Béatrice Cushion in Shaded Mint covers every centimetre of its sage-green silk velvet ground with a meadow of hand-embroidered flowers — open daisy forms, tightly coiled blooms, and small radiating clusters worked in rose-pink, warm cream, amber-gold, and deep crimson. The embroidery moves between flat satin stitch and raised dimensional forms, so the surface has genuine depth and texture. The mint velvet shows only in the narrowest gaps between flowers, more felt than seen.
Designed in Germany and made by hand in India, each Béatrice is embroidered on the frame, piece by piece, with fabric dyed to Drechsel's own colour specifications. A smaller cushion that holds its own as a single piece or alongside others in the Anke Drechsel range.
