The Beauty Frog in Grass Green is covered — almost entirely — in flowers. Large sunflower-like blooms in gold and ochre sit alongside clusters of small white daisies, a looped ribbon flower in dusky pink, and scattered orange centres that catch the light against the deep forest green velvet beneath. The plain green hands and feet are the only surface left unworked, and the contrast makes them look deliberate.
Designed in Germany and made by hand in India, each Beauty Frog is embroidered on the frame, piece by piece, with fabric dyed to Drechsel's own colour specifications. The Grass Green colourway is one of her most densely embroidered — the kind of object that reveals something new each time you look at it.
